GPA Calculator

Add each course with its grade point and credit hours to calculate your weighted GPA (Grade Point Average).

How It Works

GPA weights each course by how many credits it carries, so a 4-credit course affects your GPA more than a 1-credit course:
GPA = Σ(Grade Point × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits)

Example

If you scored a grade point of 9 in a 4-credit course and 8 in a 3-credit course, your GPA is ((9 × 4) + (8 × 3)) ÷ (4 + 3) = 60 ÷ 7 ≈ 8.57.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA is usually calculated per semester and weighted by credit hours, while CGPA is a cumulative average across all semesters. Some institutions use the terms differently, so check your school's definition.
Do I need to include every course to calculate GPA accurately?
Yes — leaving out courses will change the weighted average, so include every course and its correct credit value for an accurate GPA.
What grading scale does this calculator use?
This calculator accepts grade points from 0 to 10, since that's the most common scale for weighted GPA calculations. If your institution uses a 4.0 scale, enter your grades on that scale instead.
Can credits be a decimal, like 1.5?
Yes, the calculator accepts decimal credit values, which is useful for courses that carry fractional credit hours.
