Average Calculator

Enter any list of numbers or scores to find their average, sum and count instantly.

How It Works

The average (or mean) is the sum of all values divided by how many values there are:
Average = Sum ÷ Number of Values

Example

For the values 75, 82, 91 and 68, the sum is 316 and the count is 4, so the average is 316 ÷ 4 = 79.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between average and percentage?
Average is the mean of a set of numbers, while percentage expresses a value as a share of 100 relative to a total. Use the Percentage Calculator if you're comparing marks to a total.
Can I include negative numbers?
Yes, this calculator accepts negative numbers, which is useful for averaging values like temperature changes or score differences.
How many values can I add?
Use the '+ Add Value' button to add as many numbers as you need — there's no fixed limit.
Does it matter what order I enter the numbers in?
No — addition is order-independent, so the average, sum and count will be the same regardless of the order you enter your values.
