How It Works
Your final course grade is a weighted mix of your current grade and your final exam score. We rearrange that relationship to solve for the exam score you need:
Required Final Grade = (Desired Overall Grade − Current Grade × Current Weight) ÷ Final Exam Weight
Weights are entered as percentages and converted to fractions internally, and the current weight plus final exam weight should add up to 100%.
Example
With a current grade of 75% worth 70% of your course, a final exam worth 30%, and a desired overall grade of 80%: Required Final Grade = (80 − 75×0.70) ÷ 0.30 = 91.67%.
